jar [plus] oats [equals] yummy breakfast babies

January 25, 2012

Hey friends!!

We WON last night! Ken was there, I didn’t have to coach and we totally rocked it. It was a great game. And we won by more than 2 points which was quite a relief, I didn’t have a hard time sleeping at all. They played some damn good basketball. Gosh, it was awesome.

Good Job Cowboys!!!!!!!!!!

For breakfast this morning I had OIAJ (oats in a  jar) because I had this…

P1250019

This oatmeal is super fun, I found it at the Grocery Outlet. You’re supposed to mix the flavors together to make your own super-awesome flavor.

And I had one of these…

P1250022

Getting jars for OIAJ at my house is kinda a challenge. We definitely scrape it clean. So my oats weren’t very peanutty, but they were a million more ways of awesome because they were made in a jar!!

P1250024

The oatmeal packets are mini because you’re supposed to use two. Aren’t they so cute. I did Cinn-o-man and Apple-tastic because I thought they’d taste really good with a little peanut butter added. Boy was I right.

P1250025

I didn’t do the standard overnight oats in a jar because I’m not that organized and I can’t even think about breakfast before the morning, so I just heated up hot water on the stove, poured my instant oat packets in the jar and added the hot water. Voila.

P1250026

This jar is very tall which led to some very peanutty fingers…… who hates that, right?!

P1250027

I also had 2 Wicked mugs of Teeccino!!!!!

Guys, I feel absolutely awful. I’m trying to get blog reading into my schedule but it’s been really hard. I miss all of your sweet musings so much!!! Thanks for being so patient with me. Hopefully after this week my schedule will clear up a little……

Tell me about you!!! I want to know……

How do you fit blog reading into your hectic schedules?

What is your go-to oatmeal style? Steel cut? Old Fashioned?

probably old fashioned

What is the highest thing you’ve ever been to the top of?

Well I would say the Grand Canyon but that’s not nigh at all because it goes in……

How do you fit blog reading into your hectic schedules?
-Honestly, my blogging time management is really bad. I should read and blog less but it makes me happy.

-I’ve grown to love steel cut

What is the highest thing you’ve ever been to the top of?
-Great question… I have no idea.

Haha in college I felt like I should do less blogging, now I can’t seem to find enough time to get it in.

Congrats on the win!
Sometimes I have a tough time fitting blogging in, and sometimes it’s easy. Surprisingly, this isn’t really due to whether I’m busy or not, but more so whether I have a lot to write about/feel inspired. When I’m excited about what I’m writing, etc, I make it a priority and it fills my mornings (as I eat breakfast) and nights.

This is really good advice, if I woke up earlier I’d be less rushed and I’d be able to read some blogs. Such great ideas.

CONGRATS!! for the win!! Awesomeness!
Cinn-o-man!! Love it!!

I love the 5 min steel cut oats. They are kind of pricey though so they are for special occasions aka…most days of the week. ;-)

Aww, that’s awful. I’m OCD about time and organization and stuff and I’d literally be going crazy! You’re an inspiration in patience.

Congrats on the win, my friend!

Reading blogs fits in at my breakfast in the morning and at night before bed. If work is slow, I’ll also fit some blog reading in too.

I’m def. an old-fashioned oats girl.

I’m hit and miss with my blog commenting (as you’ve probably noticed). I used to be pretty hardcore about being on top of it, but then I decided to give myself a break, and as much as I love reading all the magnificent musings of you and all my other blog friends, I told myself it’s okay to miss a post or two…so no worries! I am an old-fashioned all the way girl when it comes to oats…never have tried steel cut though. And I’ve never done OIAJ…does that make me a bad blogger?!

Maren January 26, 2012 at 8:53 am

Yeah I used to be OCD about it too, but once I let myself out of the obligation blogging became so much more enjoyable.
